援我於陷阱、出我於淤泥、立我足於磐石、穩我步履兮、

救我於深淵、出我於淤泥、使我固立、若處重巖兮。

從陷坑淤泥中將我救援、使我之足立於磐上、俾我步履安穩、

小子所仰望。惟在聖主躬。主已應我求。呼籲達宸聰。

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

I was sliding down into the pit of death, and he pulled me out. He brought me up out of the mud and dirt. He set my feet on a rock. He gave me a firm place to stand on.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.Now when Ebed- melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon( the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin),Ebed- melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spake to the king, saying,My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.Then the king commanded Ebed- melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.So Ebed- melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence rags and worn- out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.And Ebed- melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these rags and worn- out garments under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.

And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited.
