“ See, all your angry enemies lie there, confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing.

The people will declare,“ The Lord is the source of all my righteousness and strength.” And all who were angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.

As Jesus said“ I Am he,” they all drew back and fell to the ground!

My enemies retreated; they staggered and died when you appeared.

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”“ Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied,“ I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.Meanwhile, the word of God continued to spread, and there were many new believers.

Don’t let me be disgraced, O Lord, for I call out to you for help. Let the wicked be disgraced; let them lie silent in the grave.Silence their lying lips— those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly.

May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame. May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.Let them be horrified by their shame, for they said,“ Aha! We’ve got him now!”

“ But when the tenant farmers saw his son coming, they said to one another,‘ Here comes the heir to this estate. Come on, let’s kill him and get the estate for ourselves!’So they grabbed him, dragged him out of the vineyard, and murdered him.“ When the owner of the vineyard returns,” Jesus asked,“ what do you think he will do to those farmers?”The religious leaders replied,“ He will put the wicked men to a horrible death and lease the vineyard to others who will give him his share of the crop after each harvest.”
