For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.

災禍環我、不可勝計、罪戾迫我、不能昂首、其數多越於髮、我心喪失兮、

禍患切身、不可勝計、罪惡貫盈、不敢翹首、擢髮難數、使予喪膽兮。

因有無數之災禍圍困我、罪孽罹於我身、望之無極、比髮尤多、使我心寒膽戰、

莫壅爾仁淵源源賜洪恩。但願爾聖道。長作我明燈。

For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.

There are more troubles all around me than I can count. My sins have caught up with me, and I can’t see any longer. My sins are more than the hairs of my head. I have lost all hope.

For evils have encompassed me beyond number; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me.

For troubles surround me— too many to count! My sins pile up so high I can’t see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage.

For evils beyond number have surrounded me; My guilty deeds have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me.

For innumerable dangers surround me. My sins overtake me so I am unable to see; they outnumber the hairs of my head so my strength fails me.

For my iniquities have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.

My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I didn’t take away.

Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.

But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,‘ God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,

men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He said to his brothers,“ My money is restored! Behold, it is in my sack!” Their hearts failed them, and they turned trembling to one another, saying,“ What is this that God has done to us?”

Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.Many bulls have surrounded me. Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled me.They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.I am poured out like water. All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted within me.My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.But don’t be far off, Yahweh. You are my help. Hurry to help me!

For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
