许多人说：“谁会善待我们呢？”耶和华啊，求你的圣容光照我们。

有许多人说：“谁能指示我们得什么好处呢？”耶和华啊！求你仰起你的脸，光照我们。

许多人说：“谁能让我们看到好处呢？”耶和华啊，求你用你的容光照耀我们！

有許多人說：誰能指示我們甚麼好處？耶和華啊，求你仰起臉來，光照我們。

許多人總說：「誰能指示我們甚麼好處？」永恆主啊，揚起你臉上的光來照我們哦。

許多人說：「誰能讓我們看到好處呢？」耶和華啊，求你用你的容光照耀我們！

多曰有誰福我、耶和華歟、以爾容光照予兮、

民之多言、謂誰福我兮。予曰、願耶和華色相之光華、於我而普照。

有多人云、惟願得福、主歟、我惟願主面之榮光照臨我儕、

應獻忠誠祭。順命斯無失。

Many, Lord, are asking,“ Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us.

Lord, many are asking,“ Who will make us successful?” Lord, may you do good things for us.

There are many who say,“ Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”

Many people say,“ Who will show us better times?” Let your face smile on us, Lord.

Many are asking,“ Who can show us anything good?” Let the light of your face shine on us, LORD.

There are many who say,“ Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

Many there are that say, Who will show us any good? Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Many are saying,“ Who can show us anything good?” Look on us with favor, Lord.

[ There be] many that say, Who will shew us[ any] good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Many say,“ Who can show us anything good?” Smile upon us, LORD!

Many say,“ Who will show us any good?” Yahweh, let the light of your face shine on us.

Lord God of armies, restore us; Make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.

The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace.’

Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes.

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! Lord, they walk in the light of Your face.

Do not be afraid when a person becomes rich, When the splendor of his house is increased;For when he dies, he will take nothing with him; His wealth will not descend after him.Though while he lives he congratulates himself— And though people praise you when you do well for yourself—He will go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the light.Mankind in its splendor, yet without understanding, Is like the animals that perish.

For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them.

It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure!Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of armies.You have lived for pleasure on the earth and lived luxuriously; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.

Listen, Shepherd of Israel, Who leads Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, awaken Your power, And come to save us!God, restore us And make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.”

Certainly every person walks around as a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.

I explored with my mind how to refresh my body with wine while my mind was guiding me wisely; and how to seize foolishness, until I could see what good there is for the sons of mankind to do under heaven for the few years of their lives.I enlarged my works: I built houses for myself, I planted vineyards for myself;I made gardens and parks for myself, and I planted in them all kinds of fruit trees;I made ponds of water for myself from which to irrigate a forest of growing trees.I bought male and female slaves, and I had slaves born at home. I also possessed flocks and herds larger than all who preceded me in Jerusalem.I also amassed for myself silver and gold, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I provided for myself male and female singers, and the pleasures of the sons of mankind: many concubines.Then I became great and increased more than all who preceded me in Jerusalem. My wisdom also stood by me.All that my eyes desired, I did not refuse them. I did not restrain my heart from any pleasure, for my heart was pleased because of all my labor; and this was my reward for all my labor.So I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold, all was futility and striving after wind, and there was no benefit under the sun.So I turned to consider wisdom, insanity, and foolishness; for what will the man do who will come after the king, except what has already been done?Then I saw that wisdom surpasses foolishness as light surpasses darkness.The wise person’s eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that one and the same fate happens to both of them.Then I said to myself,“ As is the fate of the fool, it will also happen to me. Why then have I been extremely wise?” So I said to myself,“ This too is futility.”For there is no lasting remembrance of the wise, along with the fool, since in the coming days everything will soon be forgotten. And how the wise and the fool alike die!So I hated life, for the work which had been done under the sun was unhappy to me; because everything is futility and striving after wind.So I hated all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me.And who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the fruit of my labor for which I have labored by acting wisely under the sun. This too is futility.Therefore I completely despaired over all the fruit of my labor for which I had labored under the sun.When there is a person who has labored with wisdom, knowledge, and skill, and then gives his legacy to one who has not labored for it; this too is futility and a great evil.For what does a person get in all his labor and in his striving with which he labors under the sun?Because all his days his activity is painful and irritating; even at night his mind does not rest. This too is futility.There is nothing better for a person than to eat and drink, and show himself some good in his trouble. This too I have seen, that it is from the hand of God.For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him?For to a person who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is futility and striving after wind.

For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with the joy of Your presence.

And I will say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!” ’

Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.
