Certainly every person walks around as a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.

辯論愈煩、則艱難叢集、果何益之有。人生斯世、歷日無幾、如影沉西、逝世之後、不識復有何事、以是觀之、安在所謂真福。

傳道者曰、我觀萬事、空之又空、虛之又虛。

勿謀何以食、何以飲、又勿縈擾、

爾以金市者、不足以果腹、勞而得者、不足以饜心、是誠何故與。爾謹聽我言、可飫嘉肴、可食肥甘、而心悅懌。

雖藏金若泥沙、積衣若邱陵、而衣適為義人之衣、金適為善人之金、

由是觀之、縱夙興夜寐、心緒紛紜、以謀餬口、亦係徒勞、上帝所愛者、必得安寢兮。

毋注目浮榮、蓋貨財之去、速如鷹飛、鼓翼而沖天。

我觀智慧者死、愚蠢者亡、遺業於後兮、揣彼之心、意謂家必恆存、室可垂後、聲名揚於寰宇兮、

天下之事、我已灼見、無非捕風捉影。

我廣貯金銀、集四方貢物、以及樂官伶女、后妃嬪御、充於後宮、

經云、世人惟草、其榮如花、草枯花謝、

我遍觀天下、有一事更屬虛幻。有人塊然獨處、無兄弟子女、不與友朋交接、然亦勞苦不已、雖得貨財、不以為足、不敢自用、不知遺誰、此屬於虛、更貽後患。

蓋貨財不能永存、冠冕不能世襲。

作善之人、業遺子孫、惡者之財、為義者所得。

斯世所為、殷憂慼慼、莫非捕風捉影、故我不樂其生。我一身勞瘁、不可為悅、蓋所經營、必遺於後起之人、子孫智愚、難以逆料、惟我竭其心思、勞苦畢生、彼得而主之、豈不盡屬於虛哉。可知經營百事、絕無餘望。人之勞心力、運智謀、凡事亨通、後人逸而得之、盡屬於虛、大可憫也。

馬大供事多、心紛、就而言曰、我姊妹遺我一人供事、主不為意乎、宜命彼助我、耶穌曰、馬大乎、馬大乎、爾思慮憧擾、為多事故、然所需者、一而已、馬利亞既擇善業、則不可奪之矣、

金銀黯敗、其黯為證、若火之燃、災及其身、蓋爾所積、必見鞫於末日、
