I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me.

我曾说：“我要谨慎我的言行，免得我舌头犯罪；恶人在我面前的时候，我要用嚼环勒住我的口。”

我说：“我要谨守我的道路，免得犯口舌之罪。恶人还在我面前的时候，我要用笼套约束我的口。”

我曾說過：『我要約束我的行徑，免得我由舌頭而犯罪；儘惡人在我面前的時候，我總要約束我的口如同用籠套着。』

我說：「我要謹守我的道路，免得犯口舌之罪。惡人還在我面前的時候，我要用籠套約束我的口。」

我謂必謹我行、免舌干咎、惡人當前、必箝我口兮、

予飭我躬、謹我行、不以舌取戾、惡人在側、當箝口而慎言兮。

我嘗云、我必謹慎行為、免舌犯罪、當惡人在前、我必封閉我口、

I said,“ I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.”

I said,“ I will be careful about how I live. I will not sin by what I say. I will keep my mouth closed when I am near sinful people.”

I said,“ I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence.”

I said to myself,“ I will watch what I do and not sin in what I say. I will hold my tongue when the ungodly are around me.”

I said,“ I will guard my ways so that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are in my presence.”

I said,“ I will keep watch over my ways So that I do not sin with my tongue; I will keep watch over my mouth as with a muzzle While the wicked are in my presence.”

I said,“ I will guard my ways, Lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, While the wicked are before me.”

I said,“ I will guard my ways so that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are in my presence.”

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

I decided,“ I will watch what I say and make sure I do not sin with my tongue. I will put a muzzle over my mouth while in the presence of an evil man.”

I said,“ I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”

Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man’s religion is vain.

that Jehovah may establish his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee( said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.

For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.Now if we put the horses’ bridles into their mouths that they may obey us, we turn about their whole body also.Behold, the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, are yet turned about by a very small rudder, whither the impulse of the steersman willeth.So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire!And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind:but the tongue can no man tame; it is a restless evil, it is full of deadly poison.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Therefore he that is prudent shall keep silence in such a time; for it is an evil time.
