I will say to God, my rock,“ Why have You forgotten me? Why must I go about in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?”

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.

For You are the God of my refuge. Why have You rejected me? Why must I go about in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?

I am weary from my groaning; with my tears I dampen my pillow and drench my bed every night.

My eyes are worn out from crying. Lord, I cry out to You all day long; I spread out my hands to You.

The Lord helps all who fall; He raises up all who are oppressed.

Indeed, my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my strength has failed because of my sinfulness, and my bones waste away.

I chirp like a swallow or a crane; I moan like a dove. My eyes grow weak looking upward. Lord, I am oppressed; support me.

They prepared a net for my steps; I was despondent. They dug a pit ahead of me, but they fell into it! Selah
