Those who repay my good with evil lodge accusations against me, though I seek only to do what is good.

They pay me back with evil, even though I was good to them. They bring charges against me, though I try only to do what is good.

Those who render me evil for good accuse me because I follow after good.

They repay me evil for good and oppose me for pursuing good.

Those who repay evil for good attack me for pursuing good.

Those also who render evil for good, They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.

They also that render evil for good Are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.

Now David had said,“ It is certainly for nothing that I have guarded everything that this man has in the wilderness, so that nothing has gone missing of all that belonged to him! For he has returned me evil for good.

They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, And have fought against me without cause.In return for my love they act as my accusers; But I am in prayer.So they have repaid me evil for good, And hatred for my love.

“ Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Then David said,“ Will the citizens of Keilah hand me and my men over to Saul?” And the Lord said,“ They will hand you over.”

Then Jonathan spoke well of David to his father Saul and said to him,“ May the king not sin against his servant David, since he has not sinned against you, and since his deeds have been very beneficial to you.For he took his life in his hand and struck the Philistine, and the Lord brought about a great victory for all Israel; you saw it and rejoiced. Why then would you sin against innocent blood by putting David to death for no reason?”Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul vowed,“ As the Lord lives, David shall not be put to death.”

Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You To speak good in their behalf, So as to turn Your wrath away from them.

If I have done evil to my friend, Or have plundered my enemy for no reason,

And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good?

They were a wall to us both by night and by day, all the time we were with them tending the sheep.

Jesus replied to them,“ I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?”
