Those who repay my good with evil lodge accusations against me, though I seek only to do what is good.

They pay me back with evil, even though I was good to them. They bring charges against me, though I try only to do what is good.

Those who render me evil for good accuse me because I follow after good.

They repay me evil for good and oppose me for pursuing good.

Those who repay evil for good attack me for pursuing good.

And those who repay evil for good, They become my enemies, because I follow what is good.

Those also who render evil for good, They are my adversaries, because I follow what is good.

They also that render evil for good Are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow[ the thing that] good[ is].

They repay me evil for the good I have done; though I have tried to do good to them, they hurl accusations at me.

They who render evil for good are also adversaries to me, because I follow what is good.

They repay me evil for good, making me desolate.

unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s were righteous.

David had just said,“ I guarded everything that belonged to this man in the wilderness for nothing. He was not missing anything, yet he paid me back evil for good.

Then David and his men went to Keilah, fought against the Philistines, drove their livestock away, and inflicted heavy losses on them. So David rescued the inhabitants of Keilah.

For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realm.

If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.None of you, however, should suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler.But if anyone suffers as a“ Christian,” he should not be ashamed but should glorify God in having that name.

They surround me with hateful words and attack me without cause.In return for my love they accuse me, but I continue to pray.They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Then David asked,“ Will the citizens of Keilah hand me and my men over to Saul?”“ They will,” the Lord responded.

Jonathan spoke well of David to his father Saul. He said to him:“ The king should not sin against his servant David. He hasn’t sinned against you; in fact, his actions have been a great advantage to you.He took his life in his hands when he struck down the Philistine, and the Lord brought about a great victory for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced, so why would you sin against innocent blood by killing David for no reason?”Saul listened to Jonathan’s advice and swore an oath:“ As surely as the Lord lives, David will not be killed.”

Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before You to speak good on their behalf, to turn Your anger from them.

if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,

And who will harm you if you are deeply committed to what is good?

They were a wall around us, both day and night, the entire time we were herding the sheep.

Jesus replied,“ I have shown you many good works from the Father. Which of these works are you stoning Me for?”
