But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth.

我如聾者不聞聲、瘖者不啟口、

我不言不聽、如聾如啞兮、

我如耳聾不聞、如瘖者不啟口、

仇人仍設網。殺我方甘心。群聚議詭計。終日出惡聲。

I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, like the mute, who cannot speak;

Like a deaf person, I can’t hear. Like someone who can’t speak, I can’t say a word.

But I am deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot speak.

I am like a deaf person; I do not hear. I am like a speechless person who does not open his mouth.

But I, like a person who is deaf, do not hear; And I am like a person who cannot speak, who does not open his mouth.

But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; And I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.

But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it.

I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse.

If he is cursing because the Lord has said to him,‘ Curse David,’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”And David said to Abishai and to all his servants,“ Behold, my own son seeks my life; how much more now may this Benjaminite! Leave him alone, and let him curse, for the Lord has told him to.It may be that the Lord will look on the wrong done to me, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing today.”
