你要切候着永恆主，一直走他的道路，他就抬舉你來擁有地土；惡人被剪除時、你必看見。

兢兢守主道。必蒙主提挈。賜爾承大地。親見眾逆滅。

你要肅靜無聲地等待永恆主，寬心渴望地等候着他；不要因那所行順利的和那直行惡謀的人而心懷不平。

惟獨堅忍到末終的，才能得救。

因為作壞事的必被剪除；惟獨等候永恆主的必擁有地土。

你不要說：『我要以惡報惡』；你要等候永恆主，他就救助你。

上帝也必拆毁你到永久；他必將你攫去，將你從帳棚中扯走，將你從活人之地拔起根來。（細拉）義人必看見，必起了敬畏的心，必譏笑他，說：

你卻高舉了我的角、如野牛的角；你用油滲透了我。我親眼看到那窺伺我者遭報，我親耳聽見那起來攻擊我、的惡人受罰。

不過你要親眼看着，看到惡人遭報。

因為凡自高的必被降卑；自己謙卑的必被升高。』

正直人的道路、遠離禍患；恪守自己的路的、保全性命。

所以你們要自己謙卑，服在上帝之大能手下，讓他在適當時候叫你們升高。

你的眼要向前正視着，你的眼光要向前面直看。要修平你腳下的轍跡，你一切所行的就得以穩定。不可偏向右或偏向左；要使你的腳遠離壞事。

他布施、他給予貧窮；他的仁義存立到永遠；他的角光榮地高舉。

然而義人總要執守他所行的路；手潔淨的人必越發有力量。

這是要叫你們的信心被試驗為及格的、比那經火試驗還能銷滅的金子更寶貴得多多的、可以在耶穌基督顯示之時見為蒙受稱讚榮耀和尊重的。
