This is why God will bring you down forever. He will take you, ripping you out of your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living. SelahThe righteous will look on with awe and will ridicule him:

You have lifted up my horn like that of a wild ox; I have been anointed with oil.My eyes look down on my enemies; my ears hear evildoers when they attack me.

You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

The highway of the upright avoids evil; the one who guards his way protects his life.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,

Let your eyes look forward; fix your gaze straight ahead.Carefully consider the path for your feet, and all your ways will be established.Don’t turn to the right or to the left; keep your feet away from evil.

He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor.

so that the genuineness of your faith— more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
