The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.

恶人借贷而不偿还；义人却恩待人，并且施舍。

The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;

Sinful people borrow and don’t pay back. But those who are godly give freely to others.

The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;

The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers.

The wicked person borrows and does not repay, but the righteous one is gracious and giving.

The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.

The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

The wicked man borrows and does not repay, but the righteous one is gracious and giving.

Evil men borrow, but do not repay their debt, but the godly show compassion and are generous.

It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment.

But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.

He has dispersed, he has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted with honor.

Yahweh will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.

For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying,“ Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves.”Elisha said to her,“ What should I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?” She said,“ Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”Then he said,“ Go, borrow empty containers from all your neighbors. Don’t borrow just a few containers.Go in and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour oil into all those containers; and set aside those which are full.”So she went from him, and shut the door on herself and on her sons. They brought the containers to her, and she poured oil.

The foreigner who is among you will mount up above you higher and higher, and you will come down lower and lower.He will lend to you, and you won’t lend to him. He will be the head, and you will be the tail.

In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

But the noble devises noble things; and he will continue in noble things.

Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?Then your light will break out as the morning, and your healing will appear quickly; then your righteousness shall go before you, and Yahweh’s glory will be your rear guard.Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say,‘ Here I am.’“ If you take away from among you the yoke, finger pointing, and speaking wickedly;and if you pour out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will rise in darkness, and your obscurity will be as the noonday;

“ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,or have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it( no, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, I have guided her from my mother’s womb);if I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or that the needy had no covering;if his heart hasn’t blessed me, if he hasn’t been warmed with my sheep’s fleece;

As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;

Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion. for God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.As it is written,“ He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.Now thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift!

Then there arose a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brothers the Jews.For there were some who said,“ We, our sons and our daughters, are many. Let us get grain, that we may eat and live.”There were also some who said,“ We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses. Let us get grain, because of the famine.”There were also some who said,“ We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute using our fields and our vineyards as collateral.Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children as their children. Behold, we bring our sons and our daughters into bondage to be servants, and some of our daughters have been brought into bondage. It is also not in our power to help it, because other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.

Beware that there not be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,“ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,” and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing; and he cry to Yahweh against you, and it be sin to you.You shall surely give, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because it is for this thing Yahweh your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.
