求你隱藏我，脫離作惡者的密謀，脫離作孽者的擾亂。他們磨快自己的舌頭，如同刀劍；他們發出苦毒的話語，好像弦上的箭，為要從隱祕處射純全人；他們突然射他，肆無忌憚。他們彼此慫恿去做惡事，彼此商量要暗設陷阱，說：「誰能看見呢？」他們籌劃不義，說：「我們所籌劃的計謀定好了。」人的意念和心思實在深不可測。

我全身的骨頭都要說：「耶和華啊，誰能像你呢？你解救困苦人脫離那些比他強大的；解救困苦人和貧窮人脫離那些搶奪他的。」

這時候，彼得清醒過來，說：「現在我確實知道主派了他的天使來，救我脫離希律的手和猶太民眾所期待的一切事。」

用刀殺了約翰的哥哥雅各。他見這事使猶太人高興，就又去抓彼得；那時正是除酵節期間。

他對大衛說：「你比我公義，因為你以善待我，我卻以惡待你。

有哪一位先知，你們的祖先不逼迫呢？他們殺了那些預言那義者要來的先知，現在你們又成為那義者的出賣者和凶手了。

我父啊，請看！看看你外袍的衣擺就在我手中！我割下了你外袍的衣擺，卻沒有殺你。你要知道，也要看見我的手中沒有惡行或叛逆。儘管你在獵取我的性命，我卻沒有得罪你。

不要像該隱，他屬於那惡者，殺了自己的弟弟。他為什麼殺弟弟呢？因為他自己的行為是惡的，而他弟弟的行為是義的。

那流人血的，恨惡純全人，並尋索正直人的性命。

主的一位天使立刻擊打希律，因為他沒有把榮耀歸給神。他被蟲咬蝕，就斷了氣。
