For[ there is] no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part[ is] very wickedness; their throat[ is] an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in[ the one of] the twain.

As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity:[ but] peace[ shall be] upon Israel.

Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in[ his] talk.And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any[ man]: for thou regardest not the person of men.Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me,[ ye] hypocrites?

But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him[ to be] captain over his people, because thou hast not kept[ that] which the LORD commanded thee.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison[ is] under their lips. Selah.

And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent[ them] throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.And when he numbered them in Bezek, the children of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.And they said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of Jabeshgilead, Tomorrow, by[ that time] the sun be hot, ye shall have help. And the messengers came and shewed[ it] to the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.Therefore the men of Jabesh said, Tomorrow we will come out unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you.And it was[ so] on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies; and they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they which remained were scattered, so that two of them were not left together.And the people said unto Samuel, Who[ is] he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel.
