Who is our master?”“ Because of the violence done to the oppressed, because of the painful cries of the needy, I will spring into action,” says the LORD.“ I will provide the safety they so desperately desire.”

Protect me as you would protect the pupil of your eye! Hide me in the shadow of your wings!Protect me from the wicked men who attack me, my enemies who crowd around me for the kill.They are calloused; they speak arrogantly.They attack me, now they surround me; they intend to throw me to the ground.He is like a lion that wants to tear its prey to bits, like a young lion crouching in hidden places.Rise up, LORD! Confront him! Knock him down! Use your sword to rescue me from the wicked man!LORD, use your power to deliver me from these murderers, from the murderers of this world! They enjoy prosperity; you overwhelm them with the riches they desire. They have many children, and leave their wealth to their offspring.

The arrogant dig pits to trap me, which violates your law.

I will put it into the hand of your tormentors who said to you,‘ Lie down, so we can walk over you.’ You made your back like the ground, and like the street for those who walked over you.”

Scatter abroad the abundance of your anger. Look at every proud man and bring him low;Look at every proud man and abase him; crush the wicked on the spot!

He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, for all his deeds are right and his ways are just. He is able to bring down those who live in pride.

Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. Yet I do not turn aside from your law.

Guarantee the welfare of your servant! Do not let the arrogant oppress me!

I constantly trust in the LORD; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?As it is written,“ For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers,nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

For the king trusts in the LORD, and because of the sovereign LORD’s faithfulness he is not upended.You prevail over all your enemies; your power is too great for those who hate you.

The wicked arrogantly chase the oppressed; the oppressed are trapped by the schemes the wicked have dreamed up.

Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion; it cannot be upended and will endure forever.As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, now and forevermore.Indeed, the scepter of a wicked king will not settle upon the allotted land of the godly. Otherwise the godly might do what is wrong.

Arrogant people smear my reputation with lies, but I observe your precepts with all my heart.
