幸我遘災者、俾其懷慚抱愧、向我誇大者、俾其被辱蒙羞兮、

彼欲尊己而凌予、幸予有災、當使之自蒙羞惡、駭懼不勝兮。

凡喜我遭難者、願其受辱蒙羞、向我狂放者、願其懷慚抱愧、

務使幸災者。弄巧反成拙。

May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.

Let all those who laugh at me because I’m in trouble be ashamed and bewildered. Let all who think they are better than I am put on shame and dishonor as if they were clothes.

Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me!

May those who rejoice at my troubles be humiliated and disgraced. May those who triumph over me be covered with shame and dishonor.

May those be ashamed and altogether humiliated who rejoice at my distress; May those who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and dishonor.

Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me.

Let them be put to shame and confounded together that rejoice at my hurt: Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

For I said,“ Don’t let them rejoice over me— those who are arrogant toward me when I stumble.”

I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown he wears will be glorious.”

If you really want to appear superior to me and would use my disgrace as evidence against me,

Your enemies will be clothed with shame; the tent of the wicked will no longer exist.

Let those who intend to take my life be disgraced and confounded. Let those who wish me harm be turned back and humiliated.Let those who say to me,“ Aha, aha!” be appalled because of their shame.

Though they curse, you will bless. When they rise up, they will be put to shame, but your servant will rejoice.My accusers will be clothed with disgrace; they will wear their shame like a cloak.

My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.Look! My servants will shout for joy from a glad heart, but you will cry out from an anguished heart, and you will lament out of a broken spirit.You will leave your name behind as a curse for my chosen ones, and the Lord GOD will kill you; but he will give his servants another name.

Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will become as nothing and will perish.

May my adversaries be disgraced and destroyed; may those who intend to harm me be covered with disgrace and humiliation.

Now it is not an enemy who insults me— otherwise I could bear it; it is not a foe who rises up against me— otherwise I could hide from him.

Let all who hate Zion be driven back in disgrace.

“ Then the king will do whatever he wants. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and he will say outrageous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, because what has been decreed will be accomplished.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

“ Make him drunk, because he has exalted himself against the LORD. Moab will wallow in his own vomit, and he will also become a laughingstock.
