別讓他們心裏說：『呵哈！正遂我們的心願！』別讓他們說：『我們把他吞下了！』

别让他们说：“哈哈，我们如愿以偿了！”别让他们说：“我们除掉他了！”

勿容其心曰、嘻、適如我願、勿容彼曰、我已吞之兮、

毋使彼自鳴得意、肆其吞噬兮、

莫容其心中云、吁哉、我已得如願、莫容其言云、我已吞噬之、

彈冠共相慶。竟將彼吞滅。

你的仇敵都抿着嘴來調弄你；他們嗤笑着又切齒着，說：『我們吞滅了她了！啊！這正是我們所盼望的日子呀！我們得到了！我們看到了！』

向我們發烈怒時，他們早就把我們活活吞下去了；

耶穌心靈中即刻覺得他們心裏這樣議論，就對他們說：『你們為甚麼心裏議論這些事呢？

他們心裏說：『我們要把它們一概毁壞』；就在遍地把上帝的會所都燒燬了。

這能死的既穿上了不死，那時經上所記：『死被吞滅在勝利中』的話便應驗了。

不要把我跟壞人和作孽的一同拉掉；他們同鄰舍說和平話，心裏卻很奸險。

不要把我交給敵人、去遂他們的心願哦；因為作假見證的人起來攻擊我，噴出兇暴來。

他倚靠上帝；上帝若要他，讓上帝如今援救他吧！因為他曾經說：「我是上帝的兒子。」』

願那些對我說『呵哈！呵哈！』的都因失望而往後退。

仇敵說：「我要追趕，我要趕上；我要分擄物；我要拿住他們，來滿足心願。我要拔出刀來，親手趕滅他們。」

永恆主啊，不要遂惡人的心願！不要使他們所計謀的成功哦！（細拉）

有幾個經學士在那裏坐着；心裏議論說：

他就從天上施恩來拯救我，使蹂躪我、的人蒙羞辱；（細拉）上帝一定施他的堅愛和忠信。

上帝啊，恩待我，因為人把我蹂躪了；打仗的終日壓迫我。窺伺我的終日把我蹂躪了；因為打仗攻擊我的人很多。至高的啊，

我們是以色列中和平忠厚的人；你竟想法子要毁壞一座城、又是以色列中的一座府城！你為甚麼要吞沒永恆主的產業呢？』

宴飲的日子輪完了，約伯總打發人去叫他們來，使他們潔淨自己為聖；他往往在早晨時候清早起來，按着他們幾人的數目獻上燔祭；因為約伯說：『萬一我兒子犯了罪，心裏謗讟上帝呢。』每逢這個日子、約伯總是這樣行的。
