I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

“ Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

When I am afraid, I will trust in You.

For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

In my alarm I had said,“ I am cut off from Your sight.” But You heard the sound of my pleading when I cried to You for help.

I called to the Lord in my distress, and He answered me. I cried out for help in the belly of Sheol; You heard my voice.

During His earthly life, He offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the One who was able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence.

Indeed, God is my salvation; I will trust Him and not be afraid, for Yah, the Lord, is my strength and my song. He has become my salvation.”

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom should I be afraid?When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.

“ So I say to you, keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me.But He said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

For He has not despised or detested the torment of the afflicted. He did not hide His face from him but listened when he cried to Him for help.
