So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites.And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.Every sea creature, reptile, bird, or animal is tamed and has been tamed by man,but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.We praise our Lord and Father with it, and we curse men who are made in God’s likeness with it.Praising and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers, these things should not be this way.

He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth;

If anyone thinks he is religious without controlling his tongue, then his religion is useless and he deceives himself.

for we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a mature man who is also able to control his whole body.

My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger,

The one who guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue, only a moment.

Lying lips are detestable to the Lord, but faithful people are His delight.

These are the ones not defiled with women, for they have kept their virginity. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. They were redeemed from the human race as the firstfruits for God and the Lamb.No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

destruction is inside it; oppression and deceit never leave its marketplace.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and one who utters lies perishes.

He said,“ They are indeed My people, children who will not be disloyal,” and He became their Savior.

The wicked are overthrown and perish, but the house of the righteous will stand.
