諸弟子皆來聽我之言、我將敬畏主之道訓誨爾曹、

壯獅有時飢。忠徒莫不適。

My children, come. Listen to me. I will teach you to have respect for the Lord.

Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.Then you will understand what is right and just and fair— every good path.

Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.

“ Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the breast?

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them,“ Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say.

and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them.And he said:“ Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

“ Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.

You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,“ I find no pleasure in them”—

“ My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
