敬虔之士、我將教爾、導爾於當由之途、我將顧爾、訓迪爾衷、

我將教訓爾指示爾當行之道途、我勸戒爾、我目亦顧視爾、

教爾小子。示爾以路。我目所視。毋失爾步。

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

I will guide you and teach you the way you should go. I will give you good advice and watch over you with love.

The Lord says,“ I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness,

Good and upright is Yahweh, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.All the paths of Yahweh are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them. He will guide them by springs of water.

Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.

My son, don’t forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments:

Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my law.For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.He taught me, and said to me:“ Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live.Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth.Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you.Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.

Come, you children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of Yahweh.
