當耶和華救大衛脫離所有仇敵和掃羅之手的日子，他用這詩的歌詞向耶和華說話。

他使我口唱新歌，就是讚美我們上帝的話。許多人必看見而懼怕，並要倚靠耶和華。

大聲喊着說：「願救恩歸於坐在寶座上我們的上帝，也歸於羔羊！」

那時，摩西和以色列人向耶和華唱這歌，說：「我要向耶和華歌唱，因他大大得勝，將馬和騎馬的投在海中。耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌，他也成了我的拯救。這是我的上帝，我要讚美他；我父親的上帝，我要尊崇他。耶和華是戰士；耶和華是他的名。

因為你們已經死了，你們的生命與基督一同藏在上帝裏面。

惡人必多受苦楚；惟獨倚靠耶和華的，必有慈愛四面環繞他。
