今也予心鬱紆、腹枴目眯、願耶和華矜憫為懷兮、

我遭急難、求主憐恤、我因憂慮、面目衰枯、身心亦復如是、

昔曾承主恩。綽綽有餘裕。何曾將吾身。委為敵人俎。

Lord, have mercy on me. I’m in deep trouble. I’m so sad I can hardly see. My whole body grows weak with sadness.

Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Because of this our hearts are faint, because of these things our eyes grow dim

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me.My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.

I am overwhelmed with troubles and my life draws near to death.I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am like one without strength.I am set apart with the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom you remember no more, who are cut off from your care.

Moreover, our eyes failed, looking in vain for help; from our towers we watched for a nation that could not save us.

For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers.My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food.In my distress I groan aloud and am reduced to skin and bones.

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.Your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down on me.Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin.My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly.I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.My back is filled with searing pain; there is no health in my body.I am feeble and utterly crushed; I groan in anguish of heart.All my longings lie open before you, Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you.My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.

All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.

Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,

vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble.

We are brought down to the dust; our bodies cling to the ground.

My eyes have grown dim with grief; my whole frame is but a shadow.

“ Or someone may be chastened on a bed of pain with constant distress in their bones,so that their body finds food repulsive and their soul loathes the choicest meal.Their flesh wastes away to nothing, and their bones, once hidden, now stick out.They draw near to the pit, and their life to the messengers of death.
