耶和華歟、我遭患難、求爾矜憫、因我憂苦、我目就衰、害及我心我身兮、

今也予心鬱紆、腹枴目眯、願耶和華矜憫為懷兮、

我遭急難、求主憐恤、我因憂慮、面目衰枯、身心亦復如是、

昔曾承主恩。綽綽有餘裕。何曾將吾身。委為敵人俎。

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.

Lord, have mercy on me. I’m in deep trouble. I’m so sad I can hardly see. My whole body grows weak with sadness.

My flesh and my heart faileth:[ but] God[ is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

For this our heart is faint; for these[ things] our eyes are dim.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man[ that hath] no strength:Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.

As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation[ that] could not save[ us].

For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.[ There is] no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither[ is there any] rest in my bones because of my sin.For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.My wounds stink[ and] are corrupt because of my foolishness.I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.For my loins are filled with a loathsome[ disease]: and[ there is] no soundness in my flesh.I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.Lord, all my desire[ is] before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,[ being] bound in affliction and iron;

Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members[ are] as a shadow.

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong[ pain]:So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones[ that] were not seen stick out.Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
