耶和華歟、我遭患難、求爾矜憫、因我憂苦、我目就衰、害及我心我身兮、

今也予心鬱紆、腹枴目眯、願耶和華矜憫為懷兮、

我遭急難、求主憐恤、我因憂慮、面目衰枯、身心亦復如是、

昔曾承主恩。綽綽有餘裕。何曾將吾身。委為敵人俎。

Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.

Lord, have mercy on me. I’m in deep trouble. I’m so sad I can hardly see. My whole body grows weak with sadness.

Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also.

For my soul is full of troubles, And my life draweth nigh unto Sheol.I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help,Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

Our eyes do yet fail in looking for our vain help: In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save.

For my days consume away like smoke, And my bones are burned as a firebrand.My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; For I forget to eat my bread.By reason of the voice of my groaning My bones cleave to my flesh.

O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore.There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; Neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.For mine iniquities are gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, Because of my foolishness.I am pained and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.For my loins are filled with burning; And there is no soundness in my flesh.I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.Lord, all my desire is before thee; And my groaning is not hid from thee.My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me: As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

For all the day long have I been plagued, And chastened every morning.

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

Which my lips uttered, And my mouth spake, when I was in distress.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: Our body cleaveth unto the earth.

Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, And all my members are as a shadow.

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with continual strife in his bones;So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; And his bones that were not seen stick out.Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
