I jumped to conclusions and said,“ I am cut off from your presence!” But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

我驚惶時、以為見絕於爾前、我呼籲時、爾仍聽我祈求兮、

予率爾以吐詞、見絕於爾前、乃籲於上、爾則俯聞。

我受驚恐時、我云、我已見絕於主之目前、然我呼籲主、主仍俯聽我祈求之聲、

偉哉造物主。待我恩何深。捍衛無不至。置我於堅城。

In my alarm I said,“ I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.

I was afraid and said,“ I’ve been cut off from you!” But you heard my cry for your favor. You heard me when I called out to you for help.

I had said in my alarm,“ I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.

In panic I cried out,“ I am cut off from the Lord!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

As for me, I said in my alarm,“ I am cut off from Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the sound of my pleadings When I called to You for help.

For I said in my haste,“ I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You.

I thought I had been banished from your sight, that I would never again see your holy temple!

Your anger overwhelms me; your terrors destroy me.

The LORD has heard my appeal for mercy; the LORD has accepted my prayer.

How much less, then, when you say that you do not perceive him, that the case is before him and you are waiting for him!

“ Zion said,‘ The LORD has abandoned me, the sovereign master has forgotten me.’

The waters closed over my head; I thought I was about to die.ק( Qof)I have called on your name, O LORD, from the deepest pit.

During his earthly life Christ offered both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

David thought to himself,“ One of these days I’m going to be swept away by the hand of Saul! There is nothing better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of searching for me through all the territory of Israel and I will escape from his hand.”

O LORD, do not let me be humiliated, for I call out to you! May evil men be humiliated! May they go wailing to the grave!

“ I thought,‘ In the middle of my life I must walk through the gates of Sheol, I am deprived of the rest of my years.’“ I thought,‘ I will no longer see the LORD in the land of the living, I will no longer look on humankind with the inhabitants of the world.My dwelling place is removed and taken away from me like a shepherd’s tent. I rolled up my life like a weaver rolls cloth; from the loom he cuts me off. You turn day into night and end my life.

When my life was ebbing away, I called out to the LORD, and my prayer came to your holy temple.Those who worship worthless idols forfeit the mercy that could be theirs.But as for me, I promise to offer a sacrifice to you with a public declaration of praise; I will surely do what I have promised. Salvation belongs to the LORD!”

So the LORD brought against them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria. They seized Manasseh, put hooks in his nose, bound him with bronze chains, and carried him away to Babylon.In his pain Manasseh asked the LORD his God for mercy and truly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.When he prayed to the LORD, the LORD responded to him and answered favorably his cry for mercy. The LORD brought him back to Jerusalem to his kingdom. Then Manasseh realized that the LORD is the true God.

I said,“ Too bad for me! I am destroyed, for my lips are contaminated by sin, and I live among people whose lips are contaminated by sin. My eyes have seen the king, the LORD who commands armies.”

Saul went on one side of the mountain, while David and his men went on the other side of the mountain. David was hurrying to get away from Saul, but Saul and his men were surrounding David and his men so they could capture them.
