樂哉諸君子。事主尊且親。主有無窮福。特為爾貯存。肉眼未曾見。俗耳未曾聞。

In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.

They are safe because you are with them. You hide them from the evil plans of their enemies. In your house you keep them safe from those who bring charges against them.

In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues.

One who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will lodge in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say to the Lord,“ My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”For it is He who rescues you from the net of the trapper And from the deadly plague.He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall.

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

God, arrogant men have risen up against me, And a gang of violent men have sought my life, And they have not set You before them.

he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a sick craving for controversial questions and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,

In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

Let’s behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and debauchery, not in strife and jealousy.

Hide me from the secret discussion of evildoers, From the restlessness of the workers of injustice,Who have sharpened their tongues like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrows,To shoot from concealment at the innocent; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.

So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things. See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!And the tongue is a fire, the very world of unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our body’s parts as that which defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
