Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

And David said,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish.

since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

and he said,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar. And behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the Lord.I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

The following night the Lord stood by him and said,“ Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in Rome.”

“ Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say?‘ Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.
