But Michal, David’s wife, informed him, saying,“ If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death!”So Michal let David down through a window, and he went and fled, and escaped.And Michal took the household idol and laid it on the bed, and put a quilt of goats’ hair at its head, and covered it with clothing.When Saul sent messengers to take David, she said,“ He is sick.”Then Saul sent messengers to see David, saying,“ Bring him up to me on his bed, so that I may put him to death.”When the messengers entered, behold, the household idol was on the bed with the quilt of goats’ hair at its head.So Saul said to Michal,“ Why have you betrayed me like this and let my enemy go, so that he has escaped?” And Michal said to Saul,“ He said to me,‘ Let me go! Why should I put you to death?’ ”

My soul is among lions; I must lie among those who devour, Among sons of mankind whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.

At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas;and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.

Then the entire assembly of them set out and brought Him before Pilate.And they began to bring charges against Him, saying,“ We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”

But they kept on insisting, saying,“ He is stirring up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee, as far as this place!”

And David said to Saul,“ Why do you listen to the words of men who say,‘ Behold, David is seeking to harm you’?

So I will hand all Judah over to the king of Babylon, and he will take them away as exiles to Babylon and will kill them with the sword.
