「耶和華啊，我被毀滅、落入墳墓有何益處？我歸於塵土，還能讚美你、宣揚你的信實嗎？

“我被害流血，下到坑中，有什么益处呢？尘土岂能称赞你，传说你的诚实吗？

“我被害流血，下到地府，有何益处呢？尘土岂能称谢你、传扬你的信实吗？

“我死亡下到阴坑，有什么好处呢？难道尘土会称谢你，宣告你的信实吗？

我被害流血，下到坑中，有甚麼益處呢？塵土豈能稱讚你，傳說你的誠實嗎？

「我死亡下到陰坑，有什麼好處呢？難道塵土會稱謝你，宣告你的信實嗎？

流我之血、使我就墓、何益之有、塵土安能頌爾、安能宣爾誠實兮、

予也被殺歸墓、何益之有、一坯之土、安能頌爾名、稱爾道兮、

曰、使我死亡、使我入墓、有何裨益、塵土豈能讚美主、述說主之誠實、

哀哀求主。聽我仰訴。

“ What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?

I said,“ What good will come if I become silent in death? What good will come if I go down into the grave? Can the dust of my dead body praise you? Can it tell how faithful you are?

“ What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?

“ What will you gain if I die, if I sink into the grave? Can my dust praise you? Can it tell of your faithfulness?

“ What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your truth?

“ What gain is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

“ What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?

What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

“ What gain is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it proclaim Your truth?

“ What profit is there in taking my life, in my descending into the Pit? Can the dust of the grave praise you? Can it declare your loyalty?

“ What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise you? Shall it declare your truth?

因為死去的人不會記得你，誰會在陰間讚美你呢？

死人不能歌頌耶和華，下到墳墓的人不能讚美祂。但我們要讚美耶和華，從現在直到永遠。你們要讚美耶和華！

陰間不能稱謝你，死亡不能讚美你，下墳墓的人不能仰望你的信實。

我必不至於死，我要活著，並要述說耶和華的作為。

你要行神蹟給死人看嗎？死人會起來讚美你嗎？（細拉）墳墓裡的死人怎能宣揚你的慈愛呢？滅亡的人怎能傳揚你的信實呢？黑暗之地有誰知道你的神蹟呢？在被遺忘之地有誰知道你的公義作為呢？

凡你的手能做的，都要盡力去做，因為在你要去的陰間沒有工作，沒有計劃，也沒有知識和智慧。
