Thou, Jehovah, of thy favor hadst made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.

Lord, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.

Lord, when you gave me your help, you made Mount Zion stand firm. But when you took away your help, I was terrified.

By your favor, O Lord, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.

Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.

O LORD, in your good favor you made me secure. Then you rejected me and I was terrified.

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; Thou takest away their breath, they die, And return to their dust.

Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah; my spirit faileth: Hide not thy face from me, Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come upon them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

Behold, it was for my peace that I had great bitterness: But thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; For thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.

And now, O Jehovah, thou art God, and hast promised this good thing unto thy servant:and now it hath pleased thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Jehovah, hast blessed, and it is blessed for ever.

For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life- time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy cometh in the morning.

Why standest thou afar off, O Jehovah? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Thou hast granted me life and lovingkindness; And thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: For thou hast taken me up, and cast me away.

When I looked for good, then evil came; And when I waited for light, there came darkness.My heart is troubled, and resteth not; Days of affliction are come upon me.I go mourning without the sun: I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help.I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches.My skin is black, and falleth from me, And my bones are burned with heat.Therefore is my harp turned to mourning, And my pipe into the voice of them that weep.

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

For thou wilt bless the righteous; O Jehovah, thou wilt compass him with favor as with a shield.

How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; And thy right hand hath holden me up, And thy gentleness hath made me great.Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, Because thou wast favorable unto them.
