予享平康之時、自謂永不傾跌、

我在平康之時、自以為永不動搖、

聖怒一時。慈恩永世。長夜悲泣。拂曉乃喜。

When I felt secure, I said,“ I will never be shaken.”

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.

As he looked out across the city, he said,‘ Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’

Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.

You said,‘ I will reign forever as queen of the world!’ You did not reflect on your actions or think about their consequences.

“ I thought,‘ Surely I will die surrounded by my family after a long, good life.For I am like a tree whose roots reach the water, whose branches are refreshed with the dew.New honors are constantly bestowed on me, and my strength is continually renewed.’

They think,“ Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!”
