Do you know when mountain goats give birth? Have you watched the deer in labor?Can you count the months they are pregnant so you can know the time they give birth?They crouch down to give birth to their young; they deliver their newborn.

LORD, I love the house where you dwell, the place where your glory resides.

Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas,though its water roars and foams and the mountains quake with its turmoil. SelahThere is a river— its streams delight the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.God is within her; she will not be toppled. God will help her when the morning dawns.

God, within your temple, we contemplate your faithful love.

He will completely destroy the glory of its forests and orchards as a sickness consumes a person.The remaining trees of its forest will be so few in number that a child could count them.

“ Son of man, face the south and preach against it. Prophesy against the forest land in the Negev,and say to the forest there,‘ Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to ignite a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. The blazing flame will not be extinguished, and every face from the south to the north will be scorched by it.Then all humanity will see that I, the LORD, have kindled it. It will not be extinguished.’”

Now bless the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who stand in the LORD’s house at night!Lift up your hands in the holy place and bless the LORD!

Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, you servants of the LORDwho stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.

So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory.

For wickedness burns like a fire that consumes thorns and briers and kindles the forest thickets so that they go up in a column of smoke.
