He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.

This is what the Lord says:“ Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say,‘ Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.’

Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine,the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself.Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire; at your rebuke your people perish.Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised up for yourself.Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.

and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”

David asked the Gibeonites,“ What shall I do for you? How shall I make atonement so that you will bless the Lord’s inheritance?”

For the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.

Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel,“ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’
