The Lord is honest and good. He teaches sinners to walk in his ways.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

proclaiming,“ The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

“ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.It is written in the Prophets:‘ They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.

Many nations will come and say,“ Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

“ Let all who are simple come to my house!” To those who have no sense she says,“ Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed.Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”

Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square;on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech:“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.

The path of the righteous is level; you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

But go and learn what this means:‘ I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

For God, who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
