And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice,“ Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”And some of the bystanders hearing it said,“ Behold, he is calling Elijah.”

O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.

He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his pleas for mercy, and for your own sake, O Lord, make your face to shine upon your sanctuary, which is desolate.
