He set it firmly on the oceans. He made it secure on the waters.

Say among the nations,“ The LORD reigns. The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken. He judges the peoples fairly.”

You are to say this to them:“ The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”He made the earth by his power, established the world by his wisdom, and spread out the heavens by his understanding.When he thunders, the waters in the heavens are in turmoil, and he causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain and brings the wind from his storehouses.Everyone is stupid and ignorant. Every goldsmith is put to shame by his carved image, for his cast images are a lie; there is no breath in them.They are worthless, a work to be mocked. At the time of their punishment they will be destroyed.Jacob’s Portion is not like these because he is the one who formed all things. Israel is the tribe of his inheritance; the LORD of Armies is his name.

The depths of the earth are in his hand, and the mountain peaks are his.

They deliberately overlook this: By the word of God the heavens came into being long ago and the earth was brought about from water and through water.Through these the world of that time perished when it was flooded.By the same word, the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

The LORD reigns! He is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed, enveloped in strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken.

Where were you when I established the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding.

The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all the stars, by the breath of his mouth.

As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb,when I made the clouds its garment and total darkness its blanket,when I determined its boundaries and put its bars and doors in place,when I declared,“ You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here”?
