但聞籲主而見拯兮。焉有倚主而蒙羞。

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.

Everyone treats me like a worm and not a man. They hate me and look down on me.

Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel and his Holy One, to one deeply despised, abhorred by the nation, the servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall prostrate themselves; because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.The governor again said to them,“ Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said,“ Barabbas.”Pilate said to them,“ Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said,“ Let him be crucified!”And he said,“ Why? what evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more,“ Let him be crucified!”

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”

The Pharisees answered them,“ Have you also been deceived?Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him?But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.”

You have caused my companions to shun me; you have made me a horror to them. I am shut in so that I cannot escape;

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said,“ It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons.”

You know my reproach, and my shame and my dishonor; my foes are all known to you.Reproaches have broken my heart, so that I am in despair. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.

For it is for your sake that I have borne reproach, that dishonor has covered my face.I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s sons.For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.When I wept and humbled my soul with fasting, it became my reproach.When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a byword to them.I am the talk of those who sit in the gate, and the drunkards make songs about me.

Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me.

So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.

And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,“ Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!

let him give his cheek to the one who strikes, and let him be filled with insults.

The Jews answered him,“ Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

The Jews therefore marveled, saying,“ How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”

The crowd answered,“ You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”

In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me!
