Kings will be your guardians and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.

As it is written, Look, I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over and a rock to trip over, and the one who believes on him will not be put to shame.

For it stands in Scripture: See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and honored cornerstone, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.

Israel will be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; you will not be put to shame or humiliated for all eternity.

LORD, I seek refuge in you; let me never be disgraced.

For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame,

LORD, I seek refuge in you; let me never be disgraced. Save me by your righteousness.

Do not let those who put their hope in you be disgraced because of me, Lord GOD of Armies; do not let those who seek you be humiliated because of me, God of Israel.For I have endured insults because of you, and shame has covered my face.

My God, I trust in you. Do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me.No one who waits for you will be disgraced; those who act treacherously without cause will be disgraced.

Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also was among those calling on his name. They called to the LORD and he answered them.He spoke to them in a pillar of cloud; they kept his decrees and the statutes he gave them.

Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD, because Jabin had nine hundred iron chariots, and he harshly oppressed them twenty years.

When he heard their cry, he took note of their distress,

so they cried out to the LORD, saying,“ We have sinned against you. Therefore, I will not deliver you again.Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them deliver you whenever you are oppressed.”But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!”So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

So Israel became poverty-stricken because of Midian, and the Israelites cried out to the LORD.
