向我張口、如咆哮吞噬之獅兮、

其口孔張、吼似猛獅兮、

向我張口、猶如猛獅攫物而吼、

健牡紛紛兮。圍我周匝。來自巴珊兮。洶洶相逼。

Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me.

They are like roaring lions that tear to pieces what they kill. They open their mouths wide to attack me.

They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.

He is like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion lurking in secret places.

All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

All your enemies Have opened their mouths wide against you; They hiss and gnash their teeth. They say,“ We have engulfed her! This certainly is the day which we awaited; We have reached it, we have seen it!”

They have gaped at me with their mouths, They have slapped me on the cheek with contempt; They have massed themselves against me.

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

All who see me deride me; They sneer, they shake their heads, saying,

Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,and said,“ This man stated,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’ ”The high priest stood up and said to Him,“ Do You offer no answer for what these men are testifying against You?”But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him,“ I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus* said to him,“ You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his robes and said,“ He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? See, you have now heard the blasphemy;

Save me from the lion’s mouth; From the horns of the wild oxen You answer me.

Her leaders within her are like wolves tearing the prey, by shedding blood and destroying lives in order to make dishonest profit.And her prophets have coated with whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying,‘ This is what the Lord God says,’ when the Lord has not spoken.

At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas;and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.

Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages, My only life from the lions.

Or he will tear my soul like a lion, Dragging me away, while there is no one to rescue me.
