向我張口、如咆哮吞噬之獅兮、

其口孔張、吼似猛獅兮、

向我張口、猶如猛獅攫物而吼、

健牡紛紛兮。圍我周匝。來自巴珊兮。洶洶相逼。

Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me.

They are like roaring lions that tear to pieces what they kill. They open their mouths wide to attack me.

They open their mouths wide against me and say,“ Aha, aha! We saw it!”

They are like a lion eager to tear, like a young lion lurking in ambush.

All our enemies open their mouths against us.

All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash their teeth, saying,“ We have swallowed her up. This is the day we have waited for! We have lived to see it.”

They open their mouths against me and strike my cheeks with contempt; they join themselves together against me.

Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

Everyone who sees me mocks me; they sneer and shake their heads:

The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so they could put Him to death.But they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. Finally, two who came forwardstated,“ This man said,‘ I can demolish God’s sanctuary and rebuild it in three days.’”The high priest then stood up and said to Him,“ Don’t You have an answer to what these men are testifying against You?”But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him,“ By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!”“ You have said it,” Jesus told him.“ But I tell you, in the future you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his robes and said,“ He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Look, now you’ve heard the blasphemy!

Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen.

Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my only one from the young lions.

or they will tear me like a lion, ripping me apart with no one to rescue me.
