向我張口、如咆哮吞噬之獅兮、

其口孔張、吼似猛獅兮、

向我張口、猶如猛獅攫物而吼、

健牡紛紛兮。圍我周匝。來自巴珊兮。洶洶相逼。

Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me.

They are like roaring lions that tear to pieces what they kill. They open their mouths wide to attack me.

Like lions they open their jaws against me, roaring and tearing into their prey.

They open their mouths against me— lions, mauling and roaring.

They open their mouths wide at me, As a ravening and roaring lion.

They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.

They gape upon me with their mouth, As a ravening and a roaring lion.

They open their mouths against me— lions, mauling and roaring.

They gaped upon me[ with] their mouths,[ as] a ravening and a roaring lion.

They open their mouths to devour me like a roaring lion that rips its prey.

They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey and roaring.

They open wide their mouths against me; they say,“ Aha, Aha! Our eyes have seen it!”

He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in ambush.

“ All our enemies open their mouths against us;

All your enemies rail against you; they hiss, they gnash their teeth, they cry:“ We have swallowed her! Ah, this is the day we longed for; now we have it; we see it!”

Men have gaped at me with their mouth; they have struck me insolently on the cheek; they mass themselves together against me.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;

Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forwardand said,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’”And the high priest stood up and said,“ Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him,“ I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus said to him,“ You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his robes and said,“ He has uttered blasphemy. What further witnesses do we need? You have now heard his blasphemy.

Save me from the mouth of the lion! You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen!

Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain.And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord has not spoken.

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

How long, O Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their destruction, my precious life from the lions!

lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
