My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

My God, my God, why have you deserted me? Why do you seem so far away when I need you to save me? Why do you seem so far away that you can’t hear my groans?

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far from my deliverance and from my words of groaning?

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? I groan in prayer, but help seems far away.

At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,“ Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,“ Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

For my sighing comes before I eat. My groanings are poured out like water.

For dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and feet.

For Yahweh will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased Yahweh to make you a people for himself.

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said,“ I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

Vindicate me, God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation. Oh, deliver me from deceitful and wicked men.For you are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, to your tents.Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my exceeding joy. I will praise you on the harp, God, my God.Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him: my Savior, my helper, and my God.

I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned by reason of the anguish of my heart.

saying,“ God has forsaken him. Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him.”

For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah.

Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.

Don’t be far from me, for trouble is near. For there is no one to help.

He said to them,“ This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”

Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.

But I trust in you, Yahweh. I said,“ You are my God.”My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.Make your face to shine on your servant. Save me in your loving kindness.

I bring my righteousness near. It is not far off, and my salvation will not wait. I will grant salvation to Zion, my glory to Israel.

We all roar like bears and moan bitterly like doves. We look for justice, but there is none, for salvation, but it is far off from us.

Don’t gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men;
