My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice,“ Eloi, Eloi, lema sabaktanei?” which is translated,“ My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

In the days of His humanity, He offered up both prayers and pleas with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His devout behavior.

For my groaning comes at the sight of my food, And my cries pour out like water.

For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

For the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.

Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said,“ I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”

Vindicate me, God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; Save me from the deceitful and unjust person!For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?Send out Your light and Your truth, they shall lead me; They shall bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places.Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And I will praise You on the lyre, God, my God.Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

I feel faint and badly crushed; I groan because of the agitation of my heart.

Saying,“ God has abandoned him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to save him.”

For the Lord loves justice And does not abandon His godly ones; They are protected forever, But the descendants of the wicked will be eliminated.

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long.For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer. Selah

Why do You stand far away, Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?

Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You.

Do not be far from me, for trouble is near; For there is no one to help.

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground].

But as for me, I trust in You, Lord, I say,“ You are my God.”My times are in Your hand; Rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your faithfulness.

I bring near My righteousness, it is not far off; And My salvation will not delay. And I will grant salvation in Zion, And My glory for Israel.

All of us growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We hope for justice, but there is none; For salvation, but it is far from us.

Do not take my soul away along with sinners, Nor my life with men of bloodshed,
