My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

My God, my God, why have you deserted me? Why do you seem so far away when I need you to save me? Why do you seem so far away that you can’t hear my groans?

And at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice,“ Eloi, Eloi, lemá sabachtháni?” which is translated,“ My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice,“ Elí, Elí, lemá sabachtháni?” that is,“ My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

During his earthly life, he offered prayers and appeals with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

I sigh when food is put before me, and my groans pour out like water.

For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has closed in on me; they pierced my hands and my feet.

The LORD will not abandon his people, because of his great name and because he has determined to make you his own people.

Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.

Vindicate me, God, and champion my cause against an unfaithful nation; rescue me from the deceitful and unjust person.For you are the God of my refuge. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?Send your light and your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place.Then I will come to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I am faint and severely crushed; I groan because of the anguish of my heart.

saying,“ God has abandoned him; chase him and catch him, for there is no one to rescue him.”

For the LORD loves justice and will not abandon his faithful ones. They are kept safe forever, but the children of the wicked will be destroyed.

When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long.For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer’s heat. Selah

LORD, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide in times of trouble?

As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God.I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and appear before God?

Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you.

Don’t be far from me, because distress is near and there’s no one to help.

He told them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Being in anguish, he prayed more fervently, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.

But I trust in you, LORD; I say,“ You are my God.”The course of my life is in your power; rescue me from the power of my enemies and from my persecutors.Make your face shine on your servant; save me by your faithful love.

I am bringing my justice near; it is not far away, and my salvation will not delay. I will put salvation in Zion, my splendor in Israel.

We all growl like bears and moan like doves. We hope for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.

Do not destroy me along with sinners, or my life along with men of bloodshed
