This was during the days of Unleavened Bread.And when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.Now when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison.

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem,with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family.And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired,“ By what power or by what name did you do this?”Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them,“ Rulers of the people and elders,

and in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against the Lord. For what are we, that you grumble against us?”

For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
