上帝說：『天穹要有發光之體來分晝夜；它們要做天象，定節令、日子、年歲；要做發光之體在天穹裏，來照在地上；』就這樣成了。於是上帝造了兩個大的發光體：一個較大的發光體來管白晝，一個較小的發光體來管黑夜；又造星辰。上帝把這些發光之體佈置在天穹，讓它們照在地上，來管晝夜，分別光暗：上帝看這很好。

他記得他向以色列家所應許的堅愛和可信；地的四極都看見我們上帝的拯救。

但對你們敬畏我名的人、必有義氣之日頭昇現起來照耀你們；它的翅膀、光線、有醫治的效能。你們必騰躍着出來、像出圈的肥牛犢。

我們呢、卻不願過量地誇口，只要照工作範圍的分量、就是上帝所分給我們的分量、也竟伸展到你們那裏去。我們並不是越過了範圍，好像從沒伸展到你們那裏去的；不，因為到傳基督的福音上、是我們最先到達你們那裏的。我們不過量地誇口，不拿別人所勞苦得到的來誇口；我們只盼望你們的信既已增長着，就我們工作的範圍來說、我們便得以在你們那裏格外擴大，可以在越過你們以外的地方傳福音，不拿別人工作範圍之內已齊備的工來誇口。

是這位永恆主說：『你做我僕人，使雅各眾族派得以重立起來，使以色列中得保存的能夠歸回——這還是輕微的事，我還要使你做外國人之光，使我的拯救能施到地儘邊呢。』
