Then you will become holy.Once you were slaves of sin. At that time right living did not control you.What benefit did you gain from doing the things you are now ashamed of? Those things lead to death!You have been set free from sin. God has made you his slaves. The benefit you gain leads to holy living. And the end result is eternal life.

“‘ But suppose someone sins on purpose. It does not matter whether they are an Israelite or an outsider. They speak evil things against the Lord. They must be separated from the community of Israel.They have not respected what the Lord has said. They have broken the Lord’ s commands. They must certainly be separated from the community. The Lord always does what is right. So he loves it when people do what is fair. Those who are honest will enjoy his blessing.

But suppose they kill someone on purpose. Then take them away from my altar and put them to death.

Most of all, this is true of people who follow desires that come from sin’s power. These people hate to be under authority. They are bold and proud. So they aren’t even afraid to speak evil things against heavenly beings.

He knows that I am without blame. He knows I’ve kept myself from sinning.
