比金子可羡慕，比极多的纯金可羡慕；比蜜甘甜，比蜂房下滴的蜜甘甜。

这些比纯金还宝贵，比蜂房的蜜更甘甜。

都比金子宝贵，比大量的精金更宝贵；比蜜甘甜，比蜂房滴下来的蜜更甘甜；

它们比金子、比大量的纯金更珍贵；比蜂蜜、比蜂巢下滴的蜜更甘甜。

都比金子可羨慕，且比極多的精金可羨慕；比蜜甘甜，且比蜂房下滴的蜜甘甜。

可慕愈於金、精金之繁多兮、其甘愈於蜜、蜂房之滴瀝兮、

較金尤貴兮、雖兼金之豐饒、亦無足比兮、較蜜尤甘兮、雖蜂房之滴瀝、亦不能擬兮、

較金寶貴、較極多之精金更加寶貴、甘勝於蜜、較蜂房之蜜尤甘、

天威分明在。萬古永不移。神斷剖黑白。陰隲定是非。

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.

More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.

你親口說的律法於我有益，勝過千萬金銀。

你的訓言多麼甜美、合我口味啊！它在我口中比蜜更甜。

因此我愛你的誡命，勝於金子，勝於鍊淨的金。

得智慧勝過得黃金；得明達勝於選得銀子。

他嘴脣的命令我未曾離棄；我口中說的話我珍藏於胸懷裏。

尋見智慧的人有福啊！取得明哲的人真樂啊！因為從智慧所得的益處勝過從銀子所得的益處；智慧所生的利強於黃金；她比紅寶石寶貴；你一切所喜愛的都比不上她。

你們要接受我的管教，別接受白銀；寧得知識，勝得精選的金；因為智慧比紅寶石美好；你一切所喜愛的都比不上她。

我的果實勝過黃金和鍊淨的金；我的出產強於精選的銀子。

智慧不是用精金可換得的，也不能平白銀去抵價值。用俄斐的金不足與評價，用寶貴水蒼玉和藍寶石也不能。金子和玻璃不足與比較，煉淨的金器也不足與兌換。

弟子啊，你要喫蜜，因為這是好的；喫蜂房滴下來的蜜，你便覺得甜。

我每逢在鋪蓋上懷念着你，在夜更中沉思着你，我的心總像飽足了骨髓肥油；我總以歡樂的嘴脣讚頌你；

人民進了森林，聽見有蜜滴下來，卻沒有人敢伸手取蜜入口，因為怕那起誓的話。原來約拿單沒有聽見他父親向人民所起的誓，故此伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，轉手送到口中；這一來，他眼睛就明亮了。人民中有一個人應時地說：『你父親曾向人民鄭重地起誓說：「今天喫甚麼食物的人必受咒詛」；因此人民都疲乏了。』約拿單說：『我父親把這地方搞壞了；你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，我眼睛就明亮了。
